Morihei Ueshiba, Founder of Aikido

Aikido (合氣道) is a Japanese non-agonistic martial art, there are no competitions, no winners or losers. The aim is not winning a game, nor dominating upon someone; the goal is self improvement, in the typical tradition of Japanese Budo.

The ancient combat tradition of Japanese Samurai lives again in Aikido, in a practice to learn about our own body, so that we can use it in a smarter way, performing natural and physiological movements even if under stress or hardship. At the same time we are working in depth, facing those fears and frustrations of everyday’s life in our dehumanizing society, which prevent us to enhance those characteristics that make us human beings.

It is a path of a lifetime…
