The John Mayer Style (JMS) project is the brainchild of an English singer who emigrated long ago for love in Tuscia. He proposed the idea of sharing the arduous task of replicating John Mayer, me on guitar and him on vocals. Having found a drummer and bassist in town, we began the challenging rehearsals focused on the material of the John Mayer Trio (Pino Palladino on bass and Steve Jordan on drums). The point here is in the word Style: to cover material from the John Mayer Trio but also covers performed by the Trio or by John Mayer in general, in his style inspired by the blues as well as Hendrix and SRV. The project is still under construction. Early rehearsals are encouraging but it is not an easy task. Cover bands dealing with this material are not many. Perhaps very few or none in Italy. Certainly not in the area where we are expected to operate, so maybe the surprise factor will help. We hope to become active by 2022 and who knows, we will have some good things going….
